Taking trip to a Disney Park? Need more space in your suitcase for Mickey ears and other souvenirs but want to bring a tripod for picture taking? I have the perfect solution for you.
Introducing my FAVORITE free tripod, provided nearly every 30 feet or so throughout Disney Parks:
Yes, it’s a trash can. But, it does the job pretty well. AND you don’t have to carry a tripod around. SCORE! For all you mommas out there… I know you’ll love the freedom of not carrying one more thing!
I bet you’re wondering how well it works. Well, I took this shot late at night during Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party. My camera settings in manual were: f/2.8, ISO 1600 and 1/13. For those who don’t shoot in manual, I shot this at a very slow shutter speed. Had I been hand holding the camera, it would be pretty blurry. As I was walking by, I stopped, put the camera on the trashcan and adjusted focus, set the timer for 2 seconds, took the photo, and was on my way to more fun!
I should definitely note that if you wanted to bring a tripod to take photos of your group, I wouldn’t recommend a Disney trash can. Rather, use their PhotoPass service and get everyone in the shot! PhotoPass photographers will even take a photo for you with your camera if you ask them!
