Disney Planning Tips

***Please Note: These are my personal recommendations of Disney vacation planning tools that I have used for my own trips and any subscriptions/books were purchased with my own money.

The FIRST thing I recommend for people planning a Disney vacation is to buy the Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World or for Disneyland is the Unofficial Guide to Disneyland.

The VERY NEXT THING I recommend is to use the discount you get when purchasing one of these books for a subscription to touringplans.com – even if you’ve been to Disney before! You don’t have to guess what parks/rides will be busy. They can predict (and almost exactly) to when is the best time to do whatever activities you have planned. It’s flexible too! I cannot recommend the Unofficial Guides and touringplans.com enough!!

Then, if you haven’t already, you’ll definitely want to download two very important apps: My Disney Experience and Lines (take advantage of all the features of Lines with your subscription to touringplans.com). With My Disney Experience you’ll be able to choose/change fastpass+ selections, make dining reservations and more! The Lines app is my absolute favorite while in the park because they not only show the posted wait time, but the expected wait time based on how long people are actually waiting in line!

Finally, for all the questions that come up before your vacation, I LOVE the Disney Parks Moms Panel! Seriously wonderful information on there. If you can’t find your question already answered (and usually in multiple ways) you can always ask! I’ve asked several questions on there and received really great answers!

Disney vacation planning doesn’t have to be stressful! With these tools, I am confident that you will be able to plan a wonderful vacation. If you have a favorite planning tool, let us know!
